Hi, I’m Lakeysha Sowunmi, founder of Sowunmi & Co. PR. At the heart of my work is a passion for storytelling, community, and impact. My background spans over 15 years in media, communications, and public relations, working at the intersection of nonprofit, corporate, and community sectors. I’ve had the privilege of serving as a spokesperson and ambassador for the California Department of Public Health, where I participate in statewide media campaigns, NPR interviews, and appearances on outlets like Fox 5, KUSI, and Channel 10 News. I’m also an author and podcast host, using these platforms to highlight equity, advocacy, and the voices of underrepresented communities.

Along the way, I’ve built deep expertise in:
